Bertil Nilsson is a visual artist within the world of filmmaking and photography, specialising in movement-based, organic and expressive forms through emotionally-led human stories.

Now shooting for Barbican, Erased Tapes Records, NOWNESS and Giorgio Armani, Bertil first started photographing circus artists and world-class talents in dance, leading to several printed publications and commissions. Naturally, Bertil’s deeply personal second book, is the result of three years of adventures into the wild, creating spontaneous and expressive scenes for his collaborators to perform in.

What makes Bertil Dirty isn’t his beautifully honest approach to filmmaking, nor his intellectually curious spirit, but his bloody-minded pursuit of telling stories, even if it means climbing to the top of mountains to do so.
