Dirty’s Youth Hymns directs ‘Party Car’ – the latest three-part social campaign for THINK!
Dirty Films were commissioned by the Department for Transport and VMLY&R to create a new set of mobile and social films for the latest online THINK! campaign. Directors Youth Hymns brought the colour and humour to this campaign, which addresses a serious issue: when young guys get in the car with their mates, their risk of a crash goes up significantly. Passengers are responsible for creating the atmosphere in the car and have a huge effect on the focus of the driver. Everything gets harder when 3 mates are shoving their phones in your face, arguing over music, or playfighting next to you.
To reach this audience Youth Hymns made use of their signature poppy, hyper-exaggerated style to create some laugh-out-loud moments highlighting the source of distraction, passengers.
Dirty Films and Youth Hymns oversaw the production and most of the post-process (delivering optimised mobile formats) driving the music, sound design and animation in a bouncy and memorable way. Additional elements, such as animation and graphics had to be eye-catching and exaggerated, making the audience aware of the effect that they have on the driver, and encouraging them that while they’re in the car, they need to “let a mate concentrate.”
